Masks or No Masks– What NJ’s Lifting of COVID Restrictions Means for Employers
Discussion Lead by Megan Knowlton Balne, Esq.
Hyland Levin Shapiro LLP
Governor Murphy just lifted the mask restrictions in time for Memorial Day Weekend.
Effective May 28th, the statewide indoor mask mandate will be lifted. Businesses and entities overseeing indoor spaces may continue to require face masks for employees, customers, and/or guests.
Also there are roll backs on more restrictions. No more 6 foot requirements? What qualifies as a “state office”? Employers have precious little time to react. What should we do to protect our organizations and ourselves? What if we have employees that refuse to wear masks, despite our internal policies? Where do their rights end and the employers’ begin? What about WC claims?
