Workplace wellbeing is being transformed by two powerful and converging forces: Aging and
Innovation. As populations age, caregiving demands are rising sharply. One in four adults in the
United States is now a caregiver, and more than half of them are working full time while
managing complex responsibilities at home. At the same time, rapid innovation is reshaping
how work gets done, adding new layers of digital demand, role complexity, and cognitive load.
Together, these forces create pressures on performance, burnout, and retention that HR
leaders can no longer overlook.
In this session, Dr. Anna Thomas explores how caregiving responsibilities, demographic change,
and accelerated technology combine to shape the modern employee experience. She
introduces the CARE Framework (Culture, Awareness, Resources, Empowerment) to help HR
leaders strengthen wellbeing, support employees navigating work and care, and build
workforce capacity in a high-demand era. The session also highlights simple and practical AI
tools that reduce friction, improve clarity, and help teams stay steady, engaged, and able to
perform at their best.
