    Topic:  Which Bathroom Do I Use ?


    During this timely session, we will explore various federal and state laws and regulations related to gender identity in the workplace, with a hyper focus on workplace washroom gender identity etiquette.


    Specifically, we will outline various state-level bathroom bills, explore EEOC bathroom guidelines, and detail OSHA's guidelines on transgender employee access to restrooms.


    Additionally, this program will offer participants best practice guidance for dealing with

    gender expression in the workplace.


    Workplace Application:  Attendees will learn how to respond to transgender and cis-gender requests for accommodation in the workplace.


    Learning Objectives:

    1.      Learn the EEOC's & OSHA's respective positions with respect to expression of gender identity in the workplace;

    2.      Explore various state-level and local jurisdictional laws related to gender identity in the workplace;

    3.      Understand how to respond to an employee expressing a gender identity concern in the workplace;

    4.      Understand how to respond to co-workers of an individual expressing a gender identity concern;

    5.      Learn how to respond to an individual expressing concern over well-being and safety when utilizing a particular gender identified washroom.




    Certification credit:  This program is approved for 1.25 general recertification credit hours toward PHR, SPHR and GPHR recertification through the HR Certification Institute.  Please be sure to note the program ID number on your recertification application form.  For more information about certification or recertification, please visit the HR Certification Institute website at
