    Topic:  Leave Management Toolkit: FMLA and Beyond


    Proactive management of employee leaves of absence curbs abuse of leave and mitigates the business and financial impact of employee absences. This interactive presentation will discuss strategies for defining roles within the leave management process, effective communication regarding leaves within the organization, and issue-spotting for legal minefields. Managing leave within the framework of federal and New Jersey laws, including the new state-wide sick time law, will also be discussed.   
    Key Learning Objectives:
    Recognizing leave management’s role within the legal process
    Defining roles within the organization with respect to leave management
    Identifying and developing internal and external leave management resources
    Understanding the interaction among the FMLA and ADA and similar state laws
    Administration of the New Jersey Sick Time Act
